About

This blog name is inspired by the old joke that pastors only work one day a week. I guess that means we have the rest of the time to blog! My vision for this blog is to be a resource to the members of the church I am serving as well as to those who just stumble upon it.

What will I blog about? Good question. I hope that my readers will give me some direction through the questions they ask about their faith and about what the Bible actually says. Since I am a pastor, my focus will be on theology- the study of the one true God revealed in Holy Scripture.

Let me give you a little background on myself. Currently, I serve as the associate pastor of St. John Lutheran Church in Defiance, Ohio. I graduated from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, MO in 2010. I love being a Lutheran! I believe in the inspired, inerrant, historical Word of God found in the Bible. I believe the best expression and explanation of the Word of God is found in the three historical creeds, the Book of Concord, and in the teachings and practice of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. What are those teachings? Well, hopefully, this blog will help you understand that. Also, check out the link to the LCMS webpage on the right side of the home page.

Thanks for reading! I am grateful for any suggestions for improvement and for subjects to discuss.
